"Really? Keep calm and carry on? How cliché!" These are the thoughts that probably went on through your head when you read the title of this post, but today's post is all about how to make the best use of your carry-on bag when traveling.
This weekend I went to Atlanta for a quick trip, so I figured I would restrict myself to only packing a carry-on bag. Keep in mind this was the first time that I've only relied on a carry-on, so this was a big step for me! Now that I have experienced living out of a small duffle bag for 3 days, I figured I would share my weekend travel tips and outfit picks with you (because obviously I am such a pro).
WEEKEND TRAVEL TIPS
TIP #1: It's only a weekend...you don't need every item in your bathroom for 2-3 days! I only packed one small makeup bag and a small toiletry bag, and I was perfectly fine!
TIP #2: Figure out your outfits ahead of time so that you don't overpack. I know this sounds easier than it is, but it's so helpful! I personally have an issue with this because I might think my outfits are cute when I pack them, but when I get to my destination I no longer like them. In order to combat this, check out tip #3!
TIP #3: Always pack one extra outfit or random singles that can be paired with en existing outfit you packed. By doing this, you have more options to mix & match!
TIP #4: Create layered outfits that can be broken down or added on to if the weather plays tricks on you.
MY ATLANTA OUTFIT PICKS:
Friday: On the Airplane
*NOTE* This peach/pink body suit wasn't part of an outfit I originally picked out, I brought it along just in case!
Shorts: I bought these shorts a couple of years ago at a thrift shop in Southern California, sorry I don't remember what the shop was called!
Shoes: *These are on sale at Nordstrom right now!! These are my go-to shoes.* http://bit.ly/2rfSzae
Dress: I got this Socialite T-shirt dress in navy a couple of years ago from Nordstrom, but here it is in black! http://amzn.to/2smau2u
If you're like me, I hope this inspires you to travel with just a carry-on this summer. Happy traveling!
