June Designer of the Month: Katherine-Mary Pichulik

Happy Monday! This post is the introduction to a new series on World Fashion Journal: Designer of the Month. Designers work hard to create great products, so they deserve to get some credit! For the month of June, our "Designer of the Month" is artist and accessories designer, Katherine-Mary Pichulik.

Katherine-Mary started PICHULIK, a South-African accessories brand, in September 2012, when she was inspired by the relationship that women have with jewelry. She's an incredibly influential designer and has influenced women worldwide.

PICHULIK's 2017 fall/winter collection is absolutely beautiful and has a great story behind it. The collection was inspired by Japanese women, especially Japan's Ama pearl divers. These divers posess some of the characteristics that PICHULIK values: bravery and intuition. Pichulik claims, "The jewelry and collections is therefore designed for 'graceeful, idiosyncratic women who are connected to the ebb and flow of their inner tides," said Pichulik in a press release.
